Was he really THAT unbelievably good?
Seen him described by many as the very best of all time. Like no one else was close sort of level.

Not confirmed but surprised he didn’t go a few years back. An absolute train wreck of a man but the best player that ever graced the football field, so sad if true.

Mashed. Yes at Wembley. Football league v rest of world. I was right next to the steps and got a high 5 off him and most of the players as they came down the stairs.
Ironically it was most of the foreigners that indulged the fans and not the home players (aside from Norman whiteside)

Reports from Argentina that Diego Armando Maradona has died. By some distance the best player of my generation and arguably the greatest of all time. After a blessed but troubled life, hopefully he’ll finally find some comfort in the hands of God

Abused his body via drink, drugs and grub. Surprised he lasted this long tbh.
Shame he cheated. Even though he was possibly the best there has ever been ( all a bit academic due to the levels of fitness etc.. over the decades but he was definitely in the top 5 of all time and in his era undoubtedly the best there was) . But like I say he tarnished it by cheating. Anyway, he's pegged it now. Terry Butcher, Terry Fenwick beat his at something in teh end. Btw, Alvin should have played in that Qtr Final and he would have stopped him. .... maybe ;-)
